Covid-19 Vaccination Directive from the Bishops of Maryland

Last week we received word of a new directive from our bishops regarding Covid-19 vaccination and members whose ministries involve continuous in-person contact with others. Please read the full directive linked here.

The bishops issued this requirement because vaccination is our best hope to healing the world and our communities from the pandemic. In their words, “As leaders of faith in the Diocese of Maryland, our community of love, we have a moral obligation to protect ourselves, to protect others and to serve as trusted voices in our communities, setting an example of living as Christ’s hands and voice in the world.”

While the hope is that this directive will encourage everyone to get vaccinated, it does only apply to certain ministries and staff. Folks who serve in capacities that fall within the parameters of the directive include clergy, Sunday School teachers, the choir, ushers, readers, and Scouts BSA leaders, as well as church, Thrift Shop, and Nursery School staff members. I have communicated with everyone in these groups as to the process for compliance, however if you think the directive applies to you and you haven’t connected with me please let me know.

If you have any questions please be sure to reach out to me or to a member of the vestry. But in the meantime let’s continue to do everything possible to support the common good and care for the most vulnerable among us as Jesus taught us to do.

Yours in God’s peace,
Kristin+

Nursery School

September has been an exciting and busy month in the Nursery School. We are adjusting to the new school year and enjoying many fun activities!

Chapel with Reverend Kristin will begin this month along with our monthly Bookmobile visits.  Both of these experiences will be done on Zoom using the smartboards in the classrooms.

We are currently at almost near capacity in our classes.  There are a few openings in our 3’s program.  We are looking for families with 2-year-olds that would be interested in joining us on Tuesday and Thursdays in the afternoon from 12:30-3:00.  If enough interest is there, we will open another class.

We are officially kicking off our fundraiser this week with Charleston Wrap- and we need YOUR help!  To reach our goals and make this fundraiser a success, we need everyone to do their part.  Luckily, it is super easy!  CLICK ON THE FLYER BELOW to be taken directly to our registration page to make your purchases.  We will be using this money to pay for Soccer Shots this fall as well as a Petting Farm.  They are both coming to our school for in-school activities the month of October. Thank you for all of your support!
