The Shell Newsletter – April 8, 2021

From the Rector

Journeying through Eastertide

Alleluia, Christ is risen!  Christ is risen indeed, alleluia!

We are now beginning our journey through the fifty days of Eastertide, from Easter Day to Pentecost. This season of the church year outpaces the forty days of Lent and invites us into a time of celebration and thanksgiving for the gift of the resurrection.

During Lent this year we invited everyone into daily micro-practices, small spiritual practices designed to draw us closer to God and others, and to help us create “holy habits.” For Eastertide we have another resource, Fifty Days of Spiritual Practice, to help us continue to deepen our faith.

In this booklet each week has a different theme: exploring faith practices, practicing mindfulness, theological wondering, exploring nature, sharing God’s love, and prayer practices. Copies were included in the Holy Week & Easter bags. If you did not receive one please call or email the church office – we can get you either a hard copy or send you a pdf. My hope is that these simple daily prompts will make your Easter season meaningful.

Yours in God’s peace,
Kristin+
