Vestry

Our Vestry is starting a new year. We installed several new members at our annual meeting at the end of January. I thank everybody who volunteered to serve. We still have one opening on the Vestry, please consider pitching in for a term – our parish community is strengthened by having many people participate. Vestry members will be attending a virtual retreat this weekend, please keep them in your prayers.

A friend of mine who demonstrated new computer software to customers once warned me to never say anything more predictive than “Now watch this!” I’m poor at predictions and I know it. Last year was especially challenging in ways few of us anticipated. But even though we’re not allowed to worship indoors yet, that’ll change in the months ahead as we continue to make progress against the virus. Re-opening indoor worship was the main topic of discussion at the last two diocesan meetings with parish clergy and wardens. The Vestry will work with Kristin and Richard to chart a path forward. If you have any suggestions on this process share them with a Vestry member. In the meantime, we can all practice patience.

Due to the uncertainties of February’s winter weather predictions, the middle-high Sunday School classes will be postponed until March 7th.  At that time, we will resume our 9:30 a.m. indoor class in the sanctuary following masks/distancing/sanitizing guidelines.  During the rest of February, our teens are encouraged to attend Zoom worship at 10:30 a.m.  Once the nicer weather arrives, we will return to holding class in the outside Memorial Garden.

Sunday School classes will be held this coming Sunday, February 28 on Zoom for preschool-5th.

Thrift Shop

The Thrift Shop is doing well despite being closed several days this month. Sales are doing well and we continue to have an abundance of volunteers to help us throughout the week.

We are having a bag sale this entire week so come out and stock up on bargains and treasures!  St. Patrick’s Day items are out along with some Easter baskets and cute little stuffed animals to go in the baskets.

Thank you to everyone who donates their time and treasures to our Thrift Shop to make it a success!
