Vestry

The Vestry approved a budget of $195,000 at our last meeting.  Thank you to the 53 families who have pledged to support St. James’.  Unfortunately, our pledges still fall short of our budgetary needs at this time, so the Vestry also voted to ask the Diocese for financial assistance.  We have never had to apply for assistance before, and if our request is approved by the Diocese we will not have to pay this money back. Any money we receive will help pay for payroll and operating expenses. To hear more about our financial situation, please come to our Annual Meeting at 9am this Sunday.

I compare the Annual Mtg to going to a restaurant.  You can read the menu and know what your order is, but to truly appreciate how your meal is prepared you have to go into the kitchen and watch the chefs.  Coming to our Annual Meeting has the same effect.  One can read the reports, but to really appreciate how St. James’ operates, one needs to hear our leaders explain the decisions made.  I hope you can make it!!

The Vestry Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the following candidates who will stand for election at the 2021 Annual Meeting:  Heather Albertson and Jason Kilmore, who are signing on for a second term, and Vic Pellicier.  You can read their stories here.  We are still seeking one more candidate, please reach out to Heather Albertson or Rev. Thrift Shop

We hope we don’t sound like a broken record, but the Thrift Shop is thriving due to the hard work of all our volunteers and employees!  We had 16 different volunteers last month which is a record setting amount!  Thank you, thank you!  (This doesn’t mean you can take a break😀).  We have also heard that the store is a pleasure to shop in because it is so neat and tidy and you can find things very easily.

Don’t forget to stop by the shop to purchase a gift for your favorite valentine!  We have many things available for your special person.  Also, St. Patty’s Day is coming up too, and we will have plenty of things available for the lucky Irish.

The shed at the Thrift Shop is always full as well as the sorting room.  Because of the extra volunteers and employees‘ hard work, we are able to process more donations than ever before!  We are so grateful to you all!
