Sunday 3/29/2020 Worship & Coffee Hour
Welcome to online church! You’re invited to gather tomorrow at 9:30 am on Zoom for Morning Prayer followed by Coffee Hour.
To join us all you need to do is click here. We will put the order of service up on the screen, but you can also download it HERE ahead of time if you prefer. If you would like to simply call and listen to the service please dial 1-312-626-6799 (Meeting ID: 639-781-862).
The fun thing about online church is you can sit in your comfiest chair and drink your favorite morning beverage – and the kids can stay in their jammies! (This option is also open to adults too).
At the end of Morning Prayer, anyone who wants to is invited to stay for Zoom Coffee Hour. Last week 33 individuals and families came together for our first Zoom Coffee Hour! While it was great to see and hear from everyone, it was also a bit unwieldly, and so this week we will be breaking folks into smaller groups and putting them into “breakout rooms” for conversation and check in time. Think of it as a normal coffee hour with groups gathered in different places – the coffee lovers by the urns, the “I skipped breakfast crew” hanging out by the snacks, and the families herding kids to the little table – only virtually!
We recognize that everyone has different levels of comfort with technology. Here are some tips for those for whom this is new:
- Follow the prompts from Zoom once you click on the link above, saying yes to audio and video
- You can use a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone – they all have slightly different functionality but we’ll try to help at the start of the gathering if needed
- Let us see your face! If at all possible please start a video feed so we can see each other face to face
- We will begin with everyone unmuted so you can say hi as folks arrive, but then will mute everyone during Morning Prayer itself. You will be invited to follow the service and respond in your home, but video lag makes unison praying awkward and difficult.

If you are unable to join us on Sunday morning and want to watch later, or if you would prefer to simply watch a live stream of the service, we are planning to record and stream the service to our YouTube page.
