REBUILD PUERTO RICO
On Sunday, February 9, 2020 we will join with our Diocese in support of our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico. Here’s the call to action along with a link to donate directly. You can also drop a donation in the offering plate on Sunday. Please help rebuild Puerto Rico. Whether or not you can help monetarily, please take some moments to pray:
Heavenly Father, we know that even storms, sufferings, or deaths could not keep us from your love and care. At this time we ask you to give guidance and wisdom to our brothers and sisters who are in material and spiritual need in our companion diocese of Puerto Rico. Bless the government of this island and all those who put their lives at risk to assist others in their needs, because there is no love greater than this. Open our hearts so that we may have compassion for them and enable us to share what we have to those in need. We ask this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Since the earthquakes in our companion diocese, we have designated February 9 as the Sunday of Support for Puerto Rico.
These funds will go directly to the Episcopal Diocese of Puerto Rico, to support their hospital, social services ministry, their orphanage, and those areas of critical need from the earthquakes.
Many of the institutions in Puerto Rico are run by their Episcopal Diocese.
There are several ways to give:
- Make your check payable to the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, write rebuild Puerto Rico in the memo line of the check. Drop your check in the offering plate.
