Vestry

In the past several months St. James’ has had to make some expensive repairs. The first was the new heat exchanger on the York HVAC unit that serves the sanctuary. That cost was $4,430 and was paid from the operating reserve account.

The Vestry also unanimously approved a proposal to fix our outside kitchen walkway/ramp. Unfortunately, it is sinking and pulling away from the building. This repair will cost $5,880 and will come from our Replenish & Establish fund.  It will be scheduled in the near future.

The Vestry is thankful we have the funds to make these repairs. Without the congregations’ generous donations to the R&E fund, this type of repair would be more of a hardship for the church. If you have any questions, please see a vestry member.

Memorial Garden/Landscape

The blooming of all our spring flowers was timed perfectly for Easter Day and our annual egg hunt.  It was a beautiful celebration of the Resurrection!  Our first outdoor worship of the season will be on May 26 following our Memorial Day Campout the evening before.

Our gardens always need care.  If you are able to take on a couple hours of weeding or other upkeep occasionally, please contact Ashley Conlon for guidance at ashleyconlon345@gmail.com.

Spring is here and it is time to get outside and enjoy the great spring weather.  With that being said, we gather for outdoor and indoor spring cleanup coming up on Saturday May 11th from 8am until 12.  We hope to get the perennials around the property cut back, some light pruning and weeding, and we also will be cleaning up the retention pond located near route 27.  If outdoor activities are not your cup of tea, we will be cleaning up the kitchen.  Hope to see you there!
